2015 Honda CBR 250R and CBR 150R launched in India

Honda Scooters and Motorcycle India (HMSI) has brought the updated version of two of its iconic models - Honda CBR 150R and CBR 250R. 2015 models of both the motorcycles feature new attractive color schemes

Honda Scooters and Motorcycle India (HMSI) has brought the updated version of two of its iconic models - Honda CBR 150R and CBR 250R. 2015 models of both the motorcycles feature new attractive color schemes and stickers adding further appeal to their looks. The company revealed the latest entrants during the Revfest in August 2015.

Similar to other Honda Motorcycles, CBR 250R will be available in two variants- Standard and Combined Anti-lock braking system. The standard variant is priced at Rs. 1,60,201 while the ABS version costs Rs. 1,89,208, both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi.

The bike is now available in Black, Pearl Amazing White and Sports Red colors. On the other hand, the new Honda CBR 150R boasts the race-inspired graphics and new eye-catching colors - Candy Palm Green, Sports Red and Jazzy Blue Metallic to remain in dynamically changing market conditions. The motorcycle is priced at Rs. 1,23,183 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Both the motorcycles continue to feature same stance and board mechanics, which was seen when it was launched in 2011-12. The bikes have only got the new colour schemes and refreshed graphics.

Talking about the engine, Honda CBR 250R has retained the same 249cc engine, which is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox producing 26.15 bhp of power and 22.9Nm of torque, whereas 150R houses 149.9cc engine, which is mated to 5-speed transmission and delivers the power output of 18.28bhp at 10500 rpm and the peak torque of 12.66Nm at 8,500 rpm.

Speaking about the updates made in both the motorcycles, Mr Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO of Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India said, Honda CBR Series is enjoying a cult-status amongst the motorcycle enthusiasts not just in India, but also across the globe.

With the updates made in CBR 150R and 250R, Honda is trying to bring fun motorcycling experience in India and they are quite sure that these upgrades will further enhance the company's connection with youth.

According to Mr Y.S Guleria, the Senior Vice President of HMSI, both the motorcycles CBR 250R and 150R have been doing well since their inception and the company has observed the growth in the segment this year.

Where CBR250R is designed to bring a thrill of an aggressive sports bike along with the comfort of premium commuter, the CBR 150R is a pure racing sensation in 150cc category dedicated to thrill the speed enthusiasts.
