How to appear offline to certain friends
After signing into Facebook you're immediately sent a chat from your least favorite "friend." Well, if you know him/her then you can go ahead and talk to those people. But if you don't want to chat with them, it is entirely possible to hide yourself from those people. You can even pick and choose who sees that you're online or not. But before you can appear offline to specific people, you need put your friends into lists so that you can tell Facebook which friends you want to be hidden from. Now every time you open up the Facebook Chat, you should be able to see all of your Friend Lists that you just created. Each group will have a slider to the far right of the name; the slider will show green by default. Make it grey to those you do want to appear online.
