Dhanbad (Jharkhand): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today appealed to the people of Jharkhand for giving a clear majority to the BJP in ongoing assembly elections.
Addressing an election rally in Dhanbad, Narendra Modi reminded people that his govt is of the poor, for the poor and by the poor.
"Delhi govt is of the poor, for the poor and by the poor.I appeal you to visit your nearest bank for opening an account. Earlier, you were asked to produce a sum of amount for opening a bank account. But now, you visit the nearest bank and you can open a bank account with Rs 0 balance. The moment your bank account is opened, you will get Rs 1 lakh insurance cover as well, said Modi.
Modi underlined the disparity between eastern and western parts of the country and said that development if India is incomplete without earstern region development
"Jharkhand has got natural resources but it is also a fact that Jharkhand is the poorest state. Development if India is incomplete without earstern region development. I have seen the western part, I want to work for the eastern region and want this region to grow similarly," said Modi.
"People are bound to flock to other places to earn their livelihood. Every youth should get job in his own town. I have started 'Make in India' campaign and I want everyone to stay in their home with their dear ones and earn livelihood," added Modi.
Narendra Modi reminded the people of Jharkhand that they are sitting on black diamond and that the state has the potential to shine the entire nation. He assured them that the central govt's coal policy will provide further revenue to the state.
"You are sitting on black diamond. It should shine... Modi is here to do it. This black diamond should be used to shine Jharkhand, in fact it has potential to shine the nation. Our policy on coal will provide revenue to the state. It will provide jobs to the people. The policy of government at Delhi has clear vision. People should get employment here. Government sitting in Delhi is commitment to fulfill your dreams and we are moving ahead with people friendly policies," said Modi

Tight security arrangements have been put in place across the city for Modi's rally.
The party has given ticket to its state unit executive committee member Raj Sinha against Congress's Mannan Mallick from here.
Polling for the fourth phase will take place in 15 constituencies, including Dhanbad, on December 14. The seats are -- Madhupur, Deoghar (SC), Bagodar, Jamua (SC), Gandey, Giridih, Dumri, Bokaro, Chandankiyari (SC), Sindri, Nirsa, Dhanbad, Jharia, Tundi and Baghmara.
Meanwhile, seventeen constituencies going to polls in third phase today are – Kodarma, Barkatha, Barhi, Barkagaon, Ramgarh, Mandu, Hazaribagh, Simaria (SC), Dhanwar, Gomia, Bermo, Ichagarh, Silli, Khijri (ST), Ranchi, Hatia, Kanke (SC).
The first phase of the five-phase polls for 13 seats on November 25 had witnessed a record 61.92 per cent polling whereas the second phase in 20 constituencies across seven Maoist-hit districts too recorded a higher voting percentage of 65.72 percent on December 2.
The last and fifth phase polling will take place on 20. Counting of votes will be done December 23.
Jharkhand Assembly comprises of 81 members.
