On the eve of Ganesh Puja falling on Saturday (Sept 11), 1.25 lakh ladoos were offered to Lord Ganesh at the famous Moti Doongri Temple in Jaipur.

The breakup : 3 Ladoos of 251 kg each, 5 ladoos of 51 kg each, 21 ladoos of 21 kg each, 108 ladoos of 1.25 kg each, and the rest in varying sizes.

Lord Ganesh was installed in a large ornate window made of flowers. With Mehandi pujan and Sinjara on Friday, the stage is set for Ganesh Puja on Saturday.

On Saturday, Lord Ganesh will be presented in different dresses in various tableaux.  He will appear in the form of Riddhi-Siddhi( in lehenga), Laabh-Shubh( in kurta-topi), and on his mouse.

The temple's Mahant Kailash Chandra Sharma said, each dress of Lord Ganesh will be 28 metre long. He will be wearing the 180-year-old golden crown. The god will be wearing a dhoti made of silver.

The historic temple is located near Moti Doongri meaning Pearl Hill. The exotic palace, a replica of Scottish style castle,  looks like a pearl atop a hill from above. Once occupied by Jaipur's former ruler Maharaja Madho Singh's son, it remains a private property of the ex-ruler family where the late Rajmata Gayatri Devi and her son Jagat Singh used to stay.

The Ganesh temple is located at the foothills of Shankargarh fort  and is a permanent attraction both for tourists and pilgrims.
