The famous Shirdi Saibaba temple received donations worth Rs 5.3 crore during the four-day Christmas holidays, an increase of Rs 1 crore as compared to last year during the same duration, Sansthan Trust Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rubal Agrawal said.
As per reports, the temple got around Rs 3 crore 10 lakh in the donation box, rest of the amount was donated through online medium, debit cards, demand drafts and cheques.
During the period, the devotees even donated gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 25 lakh, Agarwal added.
Last year, the temple received a donation of Rs 4.30 crore from devotees both from the country and abroad.
