New Delhi: A tornado called Salman Khan 'Kick' is unleashed at box office and has become the biggest opener of the year so far. Kick on its opening day has minted Rs 26.40 cr nett in India; however, it failed to break Aamir Khan's ‘Dhoom 3' (Rs 36.32 cr) and Chennai Express (Rs 33.12 cr) opening day record as was expected.

“Despite pre-Eid period + working day, #Kick opens to PHENOMENAL numbers. Fri Rs 26.40 cr+ nett. India biz. Note:- Early estimates”, tweets trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.

It's once again 'Ek Tha Tiger' which holds the highest opening day record for a Salman Khan flick with Rs 32.93 cr nett. But Kick has improvised supremely from Salman's ‘Jai Ho's opening day collection which stands at just Rs 17.55 cr.

The Sajid Nadiadwala's directorial debut flick not only in India but at overseas too is doing a brilliant business. Alone in UAE with just 68 screens, Kick has collected massive Rs 1.63 cr.

“Kick has AWESOME start in UAE. Collects $ 272,000 [Rs 1.63 cr] from 68 screens on Thu. Several screens yet to report. SUPERB!”, tweets Taran Adarsh.

Kick is Salman Khan's biggest opener in USA-Canada, with Rs 2.04 cr while other countries' collections are yet to be confirmed.

“Kick is the HIGHEST Salman Khan opener in USA-Canada. Collects $ 340,000 [Rs 2.04 cr] on Fri. AWESOME!”, confirms Adarsh.

Being a non-holiday, the flick's performance at box office is commendable and the business is expected to grow in weekend. Moreover, Eid holiday is yet to arrive next week, so one can expect a mind-boggling turnaround at box office.

It could be recalled that Hrithik Roshan's super hero flick ‘Krrish 3' after opening dull (Rs 25.20 cr) picked up in the following day. Also it recorded the highest ever single day record on Monday with Rs 35.91 cr which however, by the year end was broken by Dhoom 3.

But will it go same for Kick which also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui? Well we wish it happens!
