'Run Machine' Kohli now has 38 ODI centuries in ODIs and out of them, only six came in a losing cause including the one in the third ODI against Windies in Pune.
Kohli, who completed the fastest 10,000 ODI runs eclipsing Sachin Tendulkar by an astounding 54 innings, feels that "nothing should be taken for granted".
The 29-year-old batsman made his 14th ODI hundred, scoring 140 runs off 107 balls in his 50th innings as India skipper.
Virat Kohli scored his 36th One Day International century off 88 balls to put India in a commanding position against West Indies in the first match of the five-ODI series.
India are slated to play five ODIs against the Caribbean side and that means that the explosive batsman just needs 186 runs in these five matches to overtake his idol, Tendulkar.
Kohli is just 38 runs short of overtaking the former captain's tally of 539 runs against West Indies in Test cricket.
Kohli has also joined the elite list of Indian players to complete 18000 international runs which only include 'Trinity' of former cricketers; Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly.
