Meta's AI translator can translate unwritten languages

Meta has stated that its AI-powered speech-to-speech translation system will also support unwritten languages, as a part of company;s Universal Speech Translator (UST) project. The system has been designed for Hokkien, a primarily oral language of the Chinese diaspora, which lacks in writing form.
