Exuding confidence that the voters of Uttar Pradesh would deliver their "final strike" in favour of the BJP in the Lok Sabha election, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said Wednesday the saffron party would win more than 300 seats across the country.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday said he would not be surprised if the BJP bags all 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state, and asserted it was an "ideological victory" for the saffron party that opposition parties were "pursuing soft Hindutva".
Maurya said the demolition of the disputed structure was not a subject of debate. He said the struggle of the karsewaks has been etched in golden letters.
Maurya also denounced Akhilesh Yadav's statement that the Army must be deployed for the Dharam Sabha, saying the remarks showed the Samajwadi Party chief's frustration.
Reiterating his party's stand on the issue, Maurya said; "No power can stop construction of grand Ram temple at the birthplace of Ramlala."
On Sunday, Maurya said he was hopeful that if the need arose and there was no way out, in Parliament, the Centre could opt for the legislative route for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya, when it has adequate numbers in both Houses.
Taking a jibe at rival political parties, the UP deputy Chief Minister said, "Who is actually nervous can be clearly revealed by the expressions of (Samajwadi Party chief) Akhilesh Yadav and (BSP supremo) Mayawati".
The minister's comment comes days after BJP leader and Uttar Pradesh Minister Swami Prasad Maurya lauded Jinnah saying that the contribution of the Pakistan's founder before partition cannot be ignored.
The Deputy CM even added that those who are trying to halt the saffron party's pace will not be able to succeed as people of the country have full faith in PM Modi.
