London, Apr 23: Liverpool striker Luis Suarez on Tuesday accepted a violent conduct charge from the English Football Association after biting an opponent.

But Suarez is disputing the FA's claim that the standard punishment of three matches is “clearly insufficient” despite sinking his teeth into Chelsea defender Bransilav Ivanovic during a Premier League match on Sunday.

His punishment is set be decided on Wednesday by an independent regulatory commission.

Liverpool moved swiftly to condemn and fine Suarez on Monday.

Suarez was also suspended for seven matches in 2010 while playing for Ajax after biting a player.

After the first biting incident while at Ajax, trouble followed Suarez to the English Premier League.

He was suspended for eight games in December 2011 for making racist insults toward Manchester United defender Patrice Evra during a match.
