IND vs SA 1st ODI Live Cricket Score: India lock horns against South Africa in the first ODI of the three-match series at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi. The Men in Blue are coming into this series on the back of a humiliating 0-2 whitewash against the Proteas in the Tests. The hosts will look to bounce back in the ODIs before the T20Is kick in.

    Corbin Bosch smacked a cracking six, which kept South Africa in the hunt but three consecutive dots from Arshdeep Singh kept India in the driver's seat. What a match this is turning out to be. 18 runs needed in the final over.

    And here's the first wicket. Harshit Rana draws first blood with the ball. This was on little fuller than the good length and kept coming in with the angle as Rickelton failed to read the line and the big gap between the bat and the pad meant the ball break the stumps.

    Marco Jansen got one to skid through the surface and Rohit has been plumb LBW here. Jansen has broken the 134-run stand between Kohli and Rohit by dismissing the latter. Kohli thought about taking a review for once, but Rohit seemed to suggest that it was hitting in line and the replays showed that the batter was right.

    Tony de Zorzi on the square leg boundary has dropped a sitter and Rohit gets an early life. Rohit tried to pull Burger on a shortish delivery but didn't get it enough from the meat of the bat. It still was timed well and rather too well, straight into the hands of the fielder and de Zorzi has fluffed it.

    Rahul leads India in ODI series in absence of injured Shubman Gill

    KL Rahul is India's captain in the ODI series against the Proteas as the injured Shubman Gill is not in the squad.

    "We would have bowled first as well. The preparation has been good, the energy is there with a lot of players coming back, we want to enjoy ourselves in the middle. That's what the chat has been, we need to use every opportunity we get in the ODI team, this is a great chance to challenge our skills against a very good team.     Markram leads South Africa, Bavuma rested

    Temba Bavuma and Keshav Maharaj have been rested today, Aiden Markram leads in his absence.

    "We'll bowl first. Spent a couple of evenings, dew at night time and it'll be slightly easier to bat at night. Different personnel, the dressing room is at a good place with a lot of energy and fun. It's an important series, the end role the 2027 WC, still a bit of time, but we're up against one of the best teams in the world.
