Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli will turn 30 on November 5 (Monday) and he has got some special plans to celebrate it. Kohli along with his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma have decided to spend the special day in Haridwar and its surrounding city, Rishikesh.
According to a report in India Today, the celebrity couple landed at Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport on Saturday night and headed straight to a hotel in Haridwar.
The report also said that Kohli and Anushka will enjoy river rafting and camping in Rishikesh and are likely to visit the Anant Dham Atmabodh Ashram, headed by Maharaj Anant Baba.
This is a much-needed break for the Indian captain, who has been rested from the ongoing T20I series against West Indies.
Kohli recently led India to a 3-1 ODI series victory over the Windies. He had a big hand in India's dominant as he amassed a staggering 453 runs in the five matches.
Kohli also became the first Indian batsman to notch up three successive ODI hundreds in this series. To add up to his already whopping numbers, Kohli's average was a jaw-dropping 151 and he had an equally amazing strike-rate of 112.96.
This was also Kohli's 6th straight ODI series victory as captain at home and 8th consecutive ODI series win against the Windies.
Earlier in the series, Kohli also became the fastest batsman to reach 10,000 ODI runs.
Meanwhile, Anushka is gearing up for the release of her much-awaited movie Zero, which also stars superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film, directed by Anand L. Rai, will release on December 21.
