Arjun Tendulkar once again grabs the headlines as his five-wicket haul helped Mumbai thrash Gujarat by nine wickets in the U-19 Vinoo Madkad trophy one-day limited overs 2018/19 tournament on Saturday.
Tendulkar ripped apart the Gujarat line-up to claim five-wickets and help Mumbai restrict Gujarat to a meagre total of 142. His 5/30 in 8.2 overs saw off the top order in style as he claimed the wickets of Vardhman Dattesh Shah (0), Priyesh (1), LM Kocher (8), Jaymeet Patel (26) and Dhruvang Patel (6).
Chasing a paltry total of 143, openers Suven Parkar (67*) and Divyaanch (45) gave Mumbai a perfect start and their 108-run partnership for the first wicket made the job easier for the rest. Divyaanch fell in the 32nd over, but Pragnesh Kanpillewar (27) and Parkar wrapped up matters in 38 overs, winning by nine wickets.
The Vinoo Mankad trophy U-19 One Day limited overs 2018/19 tournament commenced from October 5. Mumbai will next face Bengal in their next group match, followed by a clash with Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.
