New Delhi: Rebel Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Yogendra Yadav has termed the showcause notice to him and three others by party for alleged anti-party activities as a 'joke'.

Yadav today morning took to Twitter to confirm that he had received showcause notice from party's disciplinary committee last night.

"Got the Show Cause Notice from Disciplinary committee at midnight. The complainants and witnesses are themselves judges!" his tweet reads.

He said that the body accused him of 'leaking news' even as the contents of the showcause notice was already leaked before he received it.

"Its funny. 'Sources' leaked content of my Show Cause Notice even before I received it. The Notice charges me with leaking news!" his said.

"Judgment before trial? 2/3 members of Disciplinary Committee have already publicly supported charges against me in the Show Cause!" he added.

The party yesterday moved towards the expulsion of rebel party leaders Yadav, Prashant Bushan as it issued show cause notice to them for their anti-party activity of organising 'Swaraj Samvad' programme. The party sought a reply within two days.

Yesterday night, in his Facebook post, Yadav also raised questions as to how can those members be part of Disciplinary Committee who had made allegations against him and Bhushan earlier.

"The Committee that has served the notice and will decide the matter includes Shri Pankaj Gupta who had signed a written public statement accusing Prashant Bhushan and me of anti-party activities, the charge he is going to investigate now! The Committee also includes Shri Ashish Khaitan who had last month made derogatory remarks against Prashant Bhushan and his family (which he had to apologise for and delete) and was the key source of "evidence' of Prashant Bhushan's anti-party activities during Delhi elections. He has liberally cursed both of us on TV. Ever heard of complainants and witnesses themselves becoming judges?," Yadav wrote on his Facebook page.
