Wait for 7-8 months more, Modi tells gold traders at Bullion Summit

The Gujarat chief minister lashed out at the Finance Ministry's curbs on import of gold by imposing high custom duties saying, this move would render lakhs of goldsmiths unemployed.

"I understand the government is facing problems with a weak rupee due to import problems, but putting restrains on gold would mean the medicine will itself become a disease", he said, hinting at possible rise in gold smuggling.
