New Delhi, Oct 12: Terming the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government heartless, the BJP Friday said that the government would fall after the winter session of parliament.

Speaking at a rally of the party's women's wing in the national capital, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Arun Jaitley slammed the government for being insensitive towards the conmmon man.

"There is no feeling in the government's heart for the common man. It seems this government has no heart - it is a heartless government. They cannot feel the pain of the common man and society," Arun Jaitley said.

Party leader Sushma Swaraj said relief for the common man can come only when the UPA government goes, and added that it would fall after the winter session of parliament.

"Relief will come only when you get rid of this government. As I said, that time is coming," Sushma Swaraj said.

"Their biggest ally Mamata Banerjee has left them. Others are ready to leave. The government won't last after the winter session. The Lok Sabha elections are at the door. Push this government out for once and afterwards, we will give you a government that will bring relief," she said.

The BJP leaders criticised the government for the recent price hike, including that of LPG cooking gas cylinders, and raise in electricity tariff.

"Every sister here is wondering if they should buy gas or two square meals. The government has to think about how can a family of four or five survive on six cylinders (of LPG a year). They are not aware what is the ground reality," Arun Jaitley said, attacking the recent cap on supply of subsidised LPG to six cylinders per family a year.

He also said that the people would reply by pulling the UPA out of power in the coming polls.

"The prime minister says he has to raise prices because money does not grow on trees. In the coming elections, people will teach you a lesson. If money does not grow on trees, votes do not grow on trees either," he said.
