Hyderabad, Jul 14: Hailing the resignations given by various Congress leaders for the Talangana cause, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao has said that the people here would never forget the ‘unprecedented sacrifices' made by them.

The TRS chief also hailed the campaign conducted by the Telangana Congress MPs in support of separate Telangana in Delhi stating they had fought with even a senior Congress leader like Pranab Mukherjee.

The Centre should accede the separate Telangana demand in view of the broad-based unity of various forces and leaders in Telangana, Rao said adding he has information that the Centre is going to take steps towards formation of separate Telangana in two weeks.

Alleging that injustice had been done to Telangana in all spheres by not implementing the Government Orders and safeguards given to the region, he wondered why Telangana and other regions of Andhra Pradesh should remain united.

“More than anything else, Telangana today wants self-respect and self-rule. Ghulam Nabi Azad (AICC incharge of party affairs in AP) or someone else will not be able to do anything. No ‘jadoo' (magic) is going to work here,” he said.

Suspended Telugu Desam leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy and other rebel leaders of the party too expressed solidarity with the Telangana Congress leaders.

Stressing the need for unity among Telangana leaders of various parties, Reddy said the ministers should go to the Governor for getting their resignations accepted.

“Ministers should go to the Governor and get the resignations accepted. You don't have to wait. You should get into the battlefield,” he said. PTI
