New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sakshi Maharaj has claimed that he is a true Muslim and Prophet Mohammed was the biggest practitioner of yoga.
"In Islam, the biggest name is that of Mohammed and I think Mohammed saab was a great yogi. I think that a Muslim is one with 'iman', thus a Mussalman. I am a true Muslim," he said.
On Surya Namaskar, he said, "Without the Sun, you and I both would be blind, the whole world would be blind. Those who call the Sun communal should stop taking its light?"
Maharaj's remark comes days ahead of the International Yoga Day celebrations scheduled for June 21.
Earlier, he had dared Uttar Pradesh Minister Mohd Azam Khan to say 'Jai Shri Ram'.
"We people belong to Indian culture, where there is no difference between Allah, Bhagwan or God. We can say Allah-o- Akbar, if Azam has courage then he should say Jai Shri Ram," he said.
