RS: So you will ultimately get them divorced Raj: No I don't intend to shatter someone's house or alliance. I don't have that habit nor do I ever wish to do something like this. RS: There's another house that's being talked about. Uddhav Thackeray says that you have behind the curtain relations with Sharad Pawar. Raj: For that the curtain needs to be wide enough. I don't know the MPs who surround Sharad Pawar's house. You stay in Delhi so you must know. RS: This question comes up because Sharad Pawar often praises you these days. Raj: When he praises, one must be terrified. When he abuses then you can conclude that something good might be happening. RS: He said that MNS has to be feared. Raj: That's a good thing…RS: He said MNS cannot be taken lightly. Raj: This is also good. RS: He said that a lot of people are attending Raj Thackeray's public meetings. Raj: That's trueRS: So if Pawar is praising you so much, something must be churning in his mind? Raj: You'll have to ask him that. I didn't say anything. If at a gathering he winks at me, what can I do? RS: If Sharad tries to join NDA, will you guide him through by using your influence over Modi?Raj: I didn't get you sorry?Audience: You talk about supporting Narendra Modi who is facing cases in Supreme Court for 2002 riots. How can a person like Modi who has taken loans worth more than 11,000 crores in Gujarat, ensure development in the country?Raj: First of all, it's not that anybody likes what happened in 2002. Many Muslims including some of my Muslim industrialist friends, who are from Mumbai, come to me and say that although nobody can change what happened in 2002 but after that, the kind of development that Gujarat has seen is something that I should go and get settled there. There have been many events in India including what happened in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi's assassination, we should forget if you have to move forward.RS: But my question is- how can these people forget what happened 12 years ago. People were killed, butchered on streets. How to forget?Raj: Then how to move forward? Either forget or move forward. If you look at Germany, whatever Hitler had done, they have closed all the doors. People from other countries don't look at the people of Germany as belonging to Hitler's country. The people of Germany are focusing on the development of the country only.RS: Can a guarantee be given that it will not be repeated?Raj: How can I give this guarantee? I can give the guarantee that this will not be repeated in Maharashtra. RS: I think even this guarantee is enough? RS: You are fighting the Lok Sabha Elections; you want to send your candidates to Delhi to address the problems prevailing in Maharashtra. You want to help Narendra Modi in winning. Why are you not contesting the elections yourself?Raj: Who will campaign? RS: Rahul Gandhi is campaigning and standing for elections.Raj: They are backed by a grand old party. Modiji also is associated with a party that is backed by another force – RSS. RS: There is another party that has been newly formed. Raj: No, they'll vanish after the elections are through. RS: Right after these elections?Raj: Yes!Audience: You go everywhere for your campaigns. Why don't you come to our Murbad region?Raj: You call me, I'll come.Audience: You might be thinking that we will not welcome you. Raj: So that's why I'm saying, you all invite me and I'll come. RS: So you invite him and he has promised you in public that he'll come.Raj: I will.Audience: You said that Shiv Sena and BJP's divorce papers are with the court. You tell when is this divorce going to take place?Raj: I'm not waiting for something like that to happen. That was just a joke.Audience: But you said so, so now you'll have to tell us abut the divorce date. Raj: I made this statement considering the way they are quarrelling. RS: You might feel bad but I thought of risking MNS soldiers presence too. First of all you assure me that I will be able to return back to Delhi in proper state? Raj: Yes, for sure! I'll drop you to the airport. RS: People from Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Gujarat and all over the country come to Mumbai but why do you always target Beharis? Raj: People from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar initially come to Maharashtra to work. They work for some time and then start forming their constituencies. I'll give you an example – a man named Abu Azmi from Pratapgarh made a very foul statement. RS: Tell them what he said.Raj: They must know. I can't say that. He comes to Maharashtra and gets selected for election from two places. People who originally resided in those areas are no longer there. People from UP were adjusted and given land so there was no place for Maharashtrans. The kind of politics these people place in the name of work is what I'm against.I have my friends here, Mr. Suresh Gupta. He is from UP and can also speak fluent Marathi. I have no problem with him. I don't see any difference between him and my other people. I have many Gujarati and even Muslim friends. Had I played that kind of politics, would they have been my friends? RS: Probably they think that if they are friends with you then they'll be protected. Raj: Then others must have got that protection too. RS: Where do they get protection? See I have before me a long list of people who have suffered. This list is from February till March 2013 - A north Indian was brutally beaten in Thane by MNS workers. Sainik school admission case in Satara might still be in your memory when students beaten… (Rajat Sharma shows him a long list)…is it good to go around beating people up? Raj: You have never asked these questions to the people of Assam. Nothing major has happened in Maharashtra. In Assam, people of Bihar were burned, their heads were chopped off and they were killed. RS: That was also wrong…Raj: But you won't show that to this extend…I guess you wouldn't get TRP.RS: In such conditions, no matter what the impression is, we generally don't think of TRP. Raj: I'm not referring to you directly. Don't take it on yourself. I mean in general, all the channels. Be it English or Hindi. There was some agitation and a pile of Samosas toppled out of a car. The media said “See what Raj Thackeray's workers have done.” They showed that clip so often that I finished counting all the samosas that had fallen.RS: But people are scared. See (Rajat Sharma shows the issue) a complete cover story – MNS shrewdly tries to evoke Marathi spirit – unfavorable for the nation. Raj: Who has written this? RS: This is India Today magazine…Raj: But they will surely write that. Today 48 trains arrive from Bihar, UP and Jharkhand on daily basis. In Goa, when one train started running from Bihar, the former Chief minister of Goa said, “Stop this train. We don't need a train of beggars.” Then nobody said a word. I have his entire statement. RS: Isn't it a matter of pride for Maharashtra that people from the country come here?Raj: Not at all! RS: …That they like Maharashtra.Raj: Not required. They can go back to their place and first work for its progress. If Narendra Modi becomes Prime Minister then I'll request him to first dedicate his five years to Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. And not anywhere else. So may PMs including Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal bahadur shastri, Indira Gandhi were from UP. Atal Behari Vajpayee and V P Singh was also from UP. It is quite pathetic that with so many Prime Ministers from UP, people of the state have to seek jobs in other states. It's shameful. Why should Maharashtra bear their weight? If Maharashtra has to accommodate them, then give the state more money. RS: But of people who come here to work, you'll call them criminals? Raj: You go to police stations and check the records. See the percentage of crime rate and the criminals involved and you'll know for yourself. RS: I had done some research. ..Raj: Had I known I would have got my record too…RS: There is no data available in Mumbai website but I have reports from Nagpur and Pune police website. I'm not an expert with surnames, but most of these surnames are – Kamble, Maljalkar, Shinde…These are not UP surnames.Raj: See in very state you will find some criminals. But whose percentage is higher. When you looked at the list, you saw more of Marathis but when I saw the list there were more of UP and Bihar criminals. It's not about staying here or not. There are many people who have come here and are very decent. RS: Because you talk like this, Nitish Kumar, Bihar's CM had to say – ‘ye sirfara hai' (he's mad).Raj: He is Bihar's Chief Minister…what can I say…RS: He said that these people are in the habit of behaving in this manner. He said they beat four to five people and make their video to promote on TV. And keep showing it to the others to frighten them. Raj: That state is very far. They don't know where the nation is heading. Your channel people are already there. Why should I shoot a video? RS: But why are you so upset with Biharis?Raj: It's not about Beharis. If Munshi Premchand or Harivansh Rai Bachan comes to Mumbai, Raj Thackeray will give them a red carpet welcome. If good people come to a state and contribute to the state. But the way criminals are pouring in Maharashtra. Why don't you meet the police? Ask them the actual condition. Find out from them, whether Raj Thackeray is actually mad or he's telling the truth? Even you know the condition there. When Nitish Kumar became the Chief Minister he had 50000 criminals put behind the bar. That means there were 50000 criminals.
