Kathmandu: Prime Minster Narendra Modi today paid homage to the victims of the Mumbai 26/11 terror attacks who lost their lives in the 2008 assault by ten Pakistani terrorists.

The Prime Minister, who is in Kathmandu to attend the 18th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit, took to micro-blogging site twitter to pay tribute to the victims.

“We remember the horrific terror attacks in Mumbai on this day in 2008 & pay homage to the innocent men & women who lost their lives,” he said in a twitter post.

He also remembered the police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

“We salute the brave security personnel who laid down their lives to protect several lives on that fateful day. They are our true heroes,” reads PM's another tweet.

“Today is a day to reaffirm our commitment to work together to combat the menace of terror & uproot it from the face of humankind,” he added.

A total of 166 people were killed and over 300 injured in the attacks, which targeted Hotel Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Hotel Trident-Oberoi, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Leopold Cafe, Nariman House, CamaHospital and other locations in the city.
