New Delhi: Parliament session will not be extended to pass the anti-graft and other important bills as the opposition has not agreed to it, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath said Friday.

"It was the intention of government to extend the session to pass the key bills. As the opposition did not agree, the session cannot be extended," said Kamal Nath.

Six anti-graft bills are pending for passage, pushed by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.

The six anti-graft bills are: the Judicial Standards and Accountability bill, Whistle Blowers Protection bill, the Rights of Citizens for Time Bound Delivery of Goods and Services and Redressal of their Grievances bill, the Prevention of Bribery of Foreign Public Officials and Officials of Public International Organisations bill, the Preventions of Corruption (Amendment) bill, and the Public Procurement Bill 2012.

Both the BJP and the Left parties have alleged that these bills are nothing but the Congress's political gimmick ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
