New Delhi: Congress today countered Prime Minister Narendra Modi's bid to woo voters in Delhi, saying he has only offered promises while it had ensured “maximum development” in the national capital during its 15-year rule.

The party also attacked the Aam Admi Party calling it a “failed experiment” Soon after Modi launched BJP's poll campaign in Delhi with a rally, party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said in a series of tweets, “Powerful orator bt PM hs only made promises, many to fructify in 2022 (house) (sic)”.

Referring to Jan Dhan, which was highlighted by Modi in his speech, Singhvi said most of the accounts were empty.  “Jan dhan started by cong & 75% of accts opened by NDA r empty,” he tweeted.

He said even Congress' enemies cannot deny that maximum development took place under party's 15-year rule and cited construction of metro, flyovers and other infrastructure.  “Even worst Cong enemies cannot deny max Devt of delhi in 15 yrs of cong rule eg flyovers, metro, pedestrianisation, greening thru parks etc.”

He said that compared to Congress achievements in Delhi, “AAP was failed experiment (3 mnths) & Modi govt hs only made promises for future.”

Kickstarting BJP's poll campaign for Delhi, the Prime Minister today wooed voters with a host of promises and promised to take the city to new heights of development.  He singled out ‘anarchist' AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for attack and asked voters to punish him for “wasting” one year.  Delhi, which is under President's Rule, is expected to have Assembly polls next month.
