New Delhi, July 19: Former Delhi chief minister Madan Lal Khurana, who was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here early Thursday following brain haemorrhage, is stable, hospital sources said Friday.

"Khurana is stable. His blood pressure has settled, which is a good sign," a source from the hospital told IANS, adding that he was "showing signs of improvement".

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, 76, who suffered a haemorrhage earlier in 2011, was admitted to the hospital at 3 a.m. Thursday in an unconscious state with bleeding inside his brain. He has been operated upon and the bleeding has been controlled.

According to the source, the operation was conducted by Rajesh Acharya, senior consultant of neurosurgery and Samir Kalra, consultant, neurosurgery.

Veteran BJP leader L.K. Advani met the ailing leader Friday morning and spent nearly 30 minutes with him, the source said.

Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel also met the ailing leader Thursday evening.
