New Delhi, Jul 10: The privileges committee of Lok Sabha is set to call activist Arvind Kejriwal for his alleged derogatory remarks against members of Parliament.

The Privileges Committee will meet tomorrow to decide the date of calling Kejriwal following a privilege notice given by Congress members Jagdambika Pal and Sajjan Singh Verma, panel chairman P C Chacko said here.

"After a privilege notice is issued against a person, he is called before the Committee. We have circulated a memorandum on the issue to the members. We will discuss it tomorrow and finalise on the date to call him," he told reporters here.

The committee would also decide on calling the Gujarat DGP and other senior police officers on a privilege notice over alleged manhandling of Congress MP Prabha Kishor Taviad during a programme in the state in May.

In their notices given in March this year, Pal and Verma had claimed that Kejriwal demeaned the institution of Parliament and its members by reportedly making derogatory remarks against them.

Taviad had alleged in the Lok Sabha that she was manhandled by the state administration during the Gujarat Divas celebrations at Dahod.

Another Congress MP Girija Vyas had raised the issue on her behalf in the House claiming that police had dragged Taviad to a jeep as soon as she ventured out of her house for Gujarat Divas celebrations and was mistreated by them resulting in injuries to her.
