2. During his tenure at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development from 1966 and 1969 he was one of the few lucky ones to get an opportunity to work under the supervision of renowned economist Raul Prebisch but destiny got him another irresistible offer. He was offered a job position in the Delhi School of Economics as a professor. Singh accepted the offer and chose to teach at Delhi School of Economics rather than working at the UN.
