Sultanpur(UP): A major political battle looms on Sultanpur with BJP leader Varun Gandhi taking on BSP's underworld gangster Pawan Pandey and Samajwadi Party's mafia don Atiq Ahmed in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Hundreds of supporters, many of them armed with weapons, in a convoy of more than 300 vehicles came on the roads of Sultanpur on Sunday to welcome SP candidate Atiq Ahmed with a view to publicly flex their muscle power.
In typical style, Atiq Ahmed said: "Today I have come here to study the geography of Sultanpur. We will fight the battle in every manner. We have come here today to mark the boundaries."
Asked about the challenge from Varun Gandhi and Pawan Pandey, Atiq Ahmed said in typical style: "I know how to reply in every language".
Atiq Ahmed's main base in Phoolpur near Allahabad, and he has been given the SP ticket for Sultanpur.
His convoy went straight to the local SP office at the Sultanpur super market.
