Lucknow: Deviating from protocol, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik today visited the official residence of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to wish him on his 41st birthday.
The governor, who has claimed of sharing very good relations with Yadav, made a phone call and wished to visit the chief minister this morning, Raj Bhawan sources said.
Naik told the chief minister that though he can extend the birthday greetings on phone but wanted to personally visit him after which the governor went to Yadav's residence and presented to him a bouquet of flowers.
The governor spent around 20 to 25 minutes at the CM's 5, Kalidas Marg residence in the state capital, sources said adding that minister for political pension Rajendra Chaudhary was also present on the occasion.
Earlier this morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended birthday greetings to Yadav, who turned 41 today, on Twitter.
