Lucknow: BSP chief Mayawati has promised that she will not construct any memorial or museum if her party is voted to power again in Uttar Pradesh.

The former UP CM whose previous terms saw a flurry of such projects including a giant park in Noida also said that she would concentrate of development and law and order.

"I don't want to construct memorials and museums any more. I want to improve law and order scenario of the state." Mayawawti told reporters at party's state unit office.

Opposition had alleged financial fraud to the tune of Rs 40,000 crore in installation of statues of elephants and also stone memorials by her government in the state.

When asked if it was the reason behind her defeat in UP, Mayawati told reporters that the mission has been completed and she would not construct any memorial or museum in the future.

"Once back in power, I will concentrate on development, law and order," Mayawati said.

The BSP chief said she would ensure that all 'goonda' elements are behind the bars, which she said was the right place for them.

Coming down heavily on Akhilesh government in the state, Maywati said ministerial reshuffle will have no positive impact on law and order. "If the ministers were sacked because of anti-party activities, CM must make it public," said the former UP CM.

Mayawati also took a dig at Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi saying, "Whenever PM Modi visits Buddhist countries, he claims to be an ardent follower of Lord Buddha. But, the grim reality is that there is a sense of insecurity among religious minorities."

Mayawati said, "If BJP-led NDA government had any concern for dalits, it would have the constitutional amendment bill pertaining to reservation in promotion passed in the Lok Sabha."

Mayawati said though her party lost, but its vote percentage was intact. She also slammed the Centre for misusing of CBI against her.
