New Delhi: Eyeing to capture power in the capital after a hiatus of 16 years, BJP President Amit Shah today warned leaders of the city unit against any groupism and directed them to ensure that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ‘vijay rath' keeps on rolling.

Addressing the first Executive Committee meeting of Delhi BJP, he said the onus was now on the city unit to make the party victorious after its wins in Haryana, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir.

“There is no space for groupism in BJP and the party would take strong action against those involved in groupism. We will definitely be successful in the upcoming Assembly elections. We have won in four states and the onus is now on you to ensure party's victory in Delhi,” he said at the meeting at Delhi BJP headquarters.

It was Shah's second visit to the Delhi BJP office in the past one week.

“After winning in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir, the ‘vijay rath' of Modi ji has now reached Delhi and Delhi unit has to work to ensure that the vijay rath reaches Bihar through the capital,” Shah added.

The BJP President asked party's ticket aspirants not to take “tension” about selection of candidates and told them to focus on broadbasing the party's strength.

“I want to tell that you should not take tension about tickets for Assembly elections, you should work to ensure victory for the party instead,” Shah said.  “There is nothing in the hearts of people of Delhi except the lotus. The question is how we work to live up to the expectations of the people. We will fight the contest with strength,” Shah said.

Without naming the Aam Aadmi Party, he also said the party workers should not bother about “lies” being spread to gain political mileage.

“I know your capability and I want to tell you that you should not take tension about lies because lies cannot travel far. Delhiites know very well (about them) and everything has now been exposed,” he said.

The meeting was attended by 500 party functionaries and workers including Delhi leaders Harsh Vardhan, Satish Upadhyay, Vijay Goel, Vijender Gupta and Ramesh Bidhuri.

In the meeting it was decided that the party will focus on range of key issues which include transport, corruption, nursery admission, basement parking under parks, Yamuna cleaning, Metro expansion and removal of lal dora.
