New Delhi: Amidst the party's attack on Union Minister Arun Jaitley over an alleged scam within DDCA, Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Thursday said that a JPC should go into the matter and former cricketer and BJP MP Kirti Azad should head the panel.

"If you want to discuss the role of Arun Jaitley in DDCA then ask Kirti Azad as to how many scams there were in DDCA," Singh said outside Parliament. Azad is a BJP MP from Bihar. He, however, said that not only DDCA, the story was the same in all sports bodies in the country.

Asked about the opposition party's demand for the constitution of a joint parliamentary committee on DDCA, Singh said, "The demand by Congress is absolutely right. Azad should be the chairman of the JPC." Singh also said that Congress was for a probe into the alleged scam in DDCA.

"We are in favour of a complete probe into it. (Delhi Chief Minister) should set up an inquiry commission to probe it," he said.

Meanwhile, on the question of corruption charges levelled by CBI against senior Delhi bureaucrat Rajendra Kumar, the Congress veteran took a dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as he labelled the AAP leader a "big fighter against corruption".

"Kejriwal has tried first to defend Kumar, but when he realised that defending Kumar is getting him a bad name, the big fighter against corruption changed track and came after Jaitley," said Singh.
