Ahmedabad, June 24: The youth wing of BJP has decided to take out a rally and gherao the Parliament in New Delhi on August 9, to protest against the alleged corruption by the Congress led UPA government.

“We have given a call of ‘Chalo Delhi' to our members of youth wing. Lakhs of youth will converge at Ramlila maidan on August 9 and will march to gherao the Parliament,” BJP youth wing president and MP Anurag Thakur told reporters here.

“The programme is against the most corrupt government that the country has got under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,” he said.

“The 2-G scam, Commonwealth Games scam, S-band deal between ISRO and Devas and Adarsh Society scam happened under the nose of Manmohan Singh. Yet, he is not ready to take responsibilities of what has been done by his government,” he alleged.

He further alleged that the government is now using force against those who are trying to fight corruption.

“They used brutal police force against Baba Ramdev and his supporters who were silently protesting,” he said.

Thakur added that Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh has said that social activist Anna Hazare's proposed fast from August 16, would be dealt with in the same way as Baba Ramdev's.

“I challenge Digvijay Singh that lakh of youths will converge at Ramlila Maidan on August 9. The government can also use force against us. We will see how powerful they are,” Thakur said. PTI
