New Delhi: The MLAs from Bihar Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) staged a protest in the assembly against the speaker accusing him of favouring the JD(U) ahead of floor test.

The protest started when the speaker took away the post of leader of opposition from BJP and gave it to JD(U) leader Vijay Chaudhary.

"This is murder of democracy. The speaker is biased," the BJP leaders alleged as they sat on protest with placards outside speaker's chamber.

Earlier, BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav announced that the MLAs have decided to vote in favour of chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on the floor of the state assembly.

"The MLAs have decided to support Jitan Ram Manjhi and we have informed Central leadership about this," BJP leader and Bihar NDA convenor Nand Kishore Yadav said on Thursday.

The RJD and JD(U) earlier slammed BJP for its decision to suport CM Manjhi.

"Hide and seek game of BJP has come out in open now, BJP has always had a history of dual standards," RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui said.

BJP has 88 MLAs in the 243-member House, the strength of which is currently reduced to 233.
