Rebutting all speculations about his meeting with the Samajwadi Party chief, Mulayam Singh Yadav, in Delhi recently, Badal said that his family has old relations with both Mulayam's and Om Prakash Chautala's families .

He said, nothing political should be attributed to his meeting with Mulayam Singh Yadav as they use social occasions "to exchange notes".

Badal was speaking to reporters  at the death anniversary of  CPI (M) leader Harkishan Singh Surjeet at Bundala, the latter's native village in Jalandhar district.

Badal described the days of UPA-2 government as limited, and said that the people have made up their mind to remove India's most corrupt government. and bring back NDA to power.

Badal said, Akali Dal  was opposed to FDI  in retail sector as the Congress had forced the decision on the nation t to help a few multi-national companies at the cost of the poor in India.
