Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi why his name has been dragged in the FIR filed by Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) against Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal.
"Don't know… why my name is in the (DCW) FIR?” Kejriwal questioned.
Kejriwal said that the FIR could not have been filed without the consent of the Prime Minister.
"A CM's name does not come by itself in an FIR. It can only happen with the PM's consent," he said.
"What is my role in this? My role has not been mentioned even once in the FIR (First Information Report)," he added.
The Delhi Chief Minister said that he will call a special session of the state Assembly in a few days to discuss the plot behind the FIR.
Kejriwal remarks came after the ACB of the Delhi government slapped a FIR against Maliwal on Monday night over complaints of alleged irregular recruitment.
A case under sections 13(D) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 409 (criminal breach of trust) and 120B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) of the IPC was registered against Maliwal following a complaint filed by former DCW chief and Congress leader Barkha Singh Shukla.
