UP Illegal Sand Mining: ED issues summons to former Hamirpur DM B Chandrakala, SP MLC Ramesh Yadav

In Uttar Pradesh mining scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is planning to tighten its grip on the former chief minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav.

ED has issued summons to four people, including former Hamirpur DM B Chandrakala and SP MLC Ramesh Yadav. Chandrakala is summoned for questioning on January 24 at ED's Lucknow office.

Yadav is called for questioning on January 28, said sources in ED.

Reportedly, between 2012 and 2016, illegal mining worth crores of rupees took place in the state.

ED, right now, is doing investigation against 11 suspects.
