This cricketer scored fastest double century in Tests, is now director of childcare centre
The cricketer played 81 Tests, 223 ODIs, and four T20Is for New Zealand and scored 4702, 709,0, and 74 runs across the three formats, respectively. He also smashed the fastest double century against England, off just 154 balls in 2002 and is still the record holder.
Nathan Astle would have loved to play T20 cricket. The man used to rip apart the opposition bowling attack in the early 2000s and still holds the record of scoring the fastest double century in the history of Test cricket.

Astle had smacked the double century off just 154 balls against England in Christchurch in 2002, and 23 years later, is still the record holder, although the format has changed a lot since the evolution of T20 cricket.

Astle retired from international cricket in January 2007, shocking many in the fraternity. He cited lack of motivation as one of the reasons to step away from the sport then. However, he was nowhere to be seen in the sport after his retirement.

After his retirement, Astle pursued his passion for racing, participating in sprint car races at Ruapuna Speedway. He also had a brief stint with the Indian Cricket League (ICL), the tournament banned by the BCCI.

Currently, Astle is the director of the childcare centre in Christchurch, New Zealand, alongside his wife, Kelly. The couple has been married since 2000 and has two children together.
