Lewthwaite is supposedly the financer, recruiter and trainer for al Qaeda, and has knit an all-women jihadist squad in Africa. She is also known as White Widow.
Lewthwaite is the daughter of a British Army soldier, and reportedly hails from Banbridge, County Down. She grew up in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
