10. Abidjan, Ivory Coast

Abidjan is has the third largest population of French speakers. It was the former capital of Ivory Coast and continues to be an important commercial center.
Many areas in Abidjan are popular hubs from tourists from around the world but since the 1999s the general economic crisis in the Ivory Coast has led to a situation of social unrest.
Negligence on the part of officials and widespread corruption too has become a source of trouble.
In 2006 there was mass poisoning of people in Abidjan due to a polluting industry dumping wastes in landfills creating inevitable drama.
