7-      Hillary Clinton served as the first lady of Arkansas first between January 9, 1979 and January 19, 1981 and later between January 11, 1983 and December 12, 1992. During her time in the office, she served at a number of positions and introduced many reforms. She continued to run campaigns for child and women right for all those years. She also served on the boards of a number of children welfare trusts and worked for children rights in her capacity. She kept practicing law and also served on the board of directors of corporate firms such as TCBY, Wal-Mart and Lafarge.

8-      During the presidential campaign of her husband Bill Clinton, she played an important and prominent role. Bill went on to say that that in electing him, the nation would "get two for the price of one", referring to the prominent role Hillary would assume. She was also at the centre of severe scrutiny during the campaign for her past political choices.

9-      During her days as the first lady of United States, she played an active role in White House politics and appointments. She is regarded as the most powerful First Lady in American history. She headed the task force on health care reforms during her time in White House. She actively took part and headed a number of committees, introduced a number of initiatives and ran a number of campaigns during her time. She took active part in passing of State Children's Health Insurance Program in 1997, helped create the Office on Violence Against Women at the Department of Justice, worked hard to get the Adoption and Safe Families Act and Foster Care Independence Act passed.

10-  Hillary Clinton's political career is not stainless as she was  blamed for her involvement in Whitewater controversy where a firm named Whitewater Development Corporation was involved. Clinton's work at Rose Law Firm was scrutinized for a possible conflict of interest in representing a bank named Madison Guaranty, owned by directors of Whitewater Development Corporation, before state regulators that her husband had appointed. Hillary Clinton became the first ‘First Lady' to be subpoenaed to testify before a Federal grand jury in the case. However, a final report issued in 2000 stated that there was no wrongdoing on her part.

11-   Hillary Clinton contested the senate election of 2000 from New York and became the first 'First Lady' of the United States to ever run for an elected office. The election caught the nationwide attention where she promised to revive the economic situation and 200,000 jobs. She won the election with 8% margin and kept low profile for her first term. She sought a second term in 2006 and won by a 36% margin.

12-  During her campaign for Democratic nomination of presidential elections in 2008, she faced a strong competition from Barack Obama. She lost the nomination to Obama but she got more votes and delegates than any other woman who had run for nomination before her. After her loss, she campaigned extensively for Obama during the presidential election which he eventually won.

13-  She served as the Secretary of State in Obama administration from January 21, 2009 to February 1, 2013. She was probably the most recognized Secretary of State ever and she traveled to a number of countries during her tenure. Important international events took place during her time, such as Arab Spring and WikiLeaks secret document releases. It was during her time when Osama bin Laden was executed in Pakistan. Middle East became highly unstable during her time and she played a key role in Egypt, Libya, Syria and Yemen.

14-  Her tenure as State Secretary was not without controversy. She came under a lot of criticism after the diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya was attacked in September 2012 where the US Ambassador to Libya was among those killed. At the congressional hearing following the attack, she took the responsibility for the security lapses at the compound. After her tenure had ended, it came to light that she used private e-mail account for official business when she was the Secretary of State. She was accused of breaching the federal law that forbids the officials to use private e-mail accounts. She has handed over 30,490 e-mails to the State Department from her personal account.

15-  She has now announced that she will contest the presidential elections of 2016. However, she has to first win the Democratic nomination. If she wins the Presidential election, it will be the first time in 227 years of American history that a woman heads the government.
