Cuttack, May 30: Odisha police, which probed the sensational gang rape and murder of dalit girl at Pipili, had not made any requisition before the treating doctors to ascertain whether the 19-year-old victim was sexually assaulted.

Deposing before the Justice P K Mohanty Commission of Inquiry, former associate professor of SCB Medical College forensic department Amarendra Nayak today said never during the treatment of the victim and nor after her death did the police make any requisition to medically examine whether or not she was sexually assaulted.

Nayak said the girl was under treatment in the hospital for over six months and the crime branch of the police had made several requisitions during the period. But, the investigating officer never made any request to find out whether the girl had received any injuries due to sexual assault.

Even during the post mortem requisition after her death in June 2012, the police had never asked the doctors to ascertain the same, he said.

The crime branch DSP Ramesh Chandra Sethy, who was the IO of the case, will depose before the Commission tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the state government on Tuesday informed the Commission that it has challenged the decision of the State Administrative Tribunal on former Pipili police inspector Amulya Kumar Champatiray in the High Court.

While the Government had dismissed the disgraced police inspector from service for dereliction of duties, the SAT had quashed the dismissal order.
