Lt Gen. Dr. Ved Chaturvedi talked on India TV Conclave and gave his insight on Army's involvement in fighting COVID 19 crisis. He said, "Army is well-eqipped with handling the crisis, Oxygen plants are pre-installed in several Army bases".

When asked about the duration of the vaccination drive, he said, "It is difficult to determine the duration of the vaccination drive. The speed at which vaccination is taking place, needs to be ramped up. People need to stay hopeful and strong", he said.

Executive Chairperson, Biocon Kiran Mazumdar Shaw spoke at the India TV Conclave. She talked about the hurdles in ramping up vaccination. Apart from this, she said, "People who haven't ever tested positive for COVID 19 should be prioritized for vaccination, as they're more susceptible to it". 

She also praised Adar Poonawala of Serum Institute and thanked the government for assisting him in producing more and more vaccine doses. 

Dr. Mamata Jaju practices at Chachu Nehru Hospital and spoke on covid 19 among children on the India TV Conclave. She emphasized on the importance of exercises in order to achieve immunity and avoid obesity among children. "Children need to exercise, consume vitamin C, zinc and ensure wearing masks at all times".

Child Specialist and Padmashri honored Dr. Sanjeev Bagai spoke on the India TV Conclave. He spoke about the possibility of achieving herd immunity. He said, "70-75% population needs to be immunized in order to achieve herd immunity, which can probably be achieved by the latter part of 2021".

Prof., AIIMS, Dr. Atul Kumar spoke about causes of black fungal infection on India TV Conclave. He said, "Rampant use of steroids causes black fungal infection. Its early symptoms could be soreness and redness in eyes".

"If detected early on, this condition can be treated", he further added.

Chairman, CCS Medanta Hospital, Dr. Arvinder Soin addressed the India TV Conclave and spoke about the Black Fungus Infection. He said that "Nose congestion and eyes watering early signs of black fungal infection", he said.

He further added that severe intake of steroids can be one of the primary causes of this infection.

Former Director AIIMS, M C Mishra addressed the India TV Conclave and spoke about black fungal infection, a condition that affects the vision of patients. He said that it is extremely rare for covid 19 survivors to get this infection. "Black Fungal Infection is a very rare situation among covid recovered patients. If someone is facing this, they should come forward and get treated", he said

Amid rising covid 19 cases, lockdown is extended in Uttar Pradesh. The lockdown was slated to end today but given a steep rise in covid 19 cases, it is now extended till May 17.

Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar spoke about the importance of discipline in fighting the virus. She said, "If discipline is inculcated, even the third wave can be fought by India". She also said that presently, more attention needs to be given to young adults, as vaccination has barely begun for 18+

Speaking on the India TV Conclave, Lt Gen Kanitkar assured that 99% Army personnel are vaccinated. She also said that no personnel has lost their lives after receiving vaccination doses. 

Lt General Madhuri Kanitkar spoke on the India TV Conclave and gave credit to Indian Army, IAF and the Navy for providing full cooperation in supplying covid 19 related medical supplies. "The army is providing truck drivers. Oxygen and other medical aide is supplied through Air Force flights, Navy ships", she said.

"Not just winning Covid battle, but also cooperation battle", she further added.

The total cases of COVID-19 in India have now mounted to 2,22,96,414, with 37,36,648 active cases, the data showed. The total death toll in the country is now at 2,42,362. A total of 16,94,39,663 people have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in India.
