Scuba diving is a form of underwater diving in which a diver uses a self controlled undersea breathing gear to breathe.In contrast to other modes of diving, which depends either on breath-hold or on air pumped from outside, scuba divers bring their own supply of breathing gas, allowing them more liberty of movement than with an air line or diver's umbilical and longer underwater fortitude than breath-hold. Scuba tools may be open circuit, in which exhaled gas is pooped out to the environs, or closed or semi-closed circuit, in which the breathing gas is scrubbed to eliminate carbon dioxide, and the oxygen used is replenished from a supply of feed gas before being re-taken.A scuba diver generally swims at the bottom of the sea by using fins attached to the feet, but external force can be provided by a diver impulsion vehicle, or a luge pulled from the surface.
