Numerous Indian historical artifacts have lured people across the world and as a result many of these artifacts can be found across the borders.Let's take a look at the historical belongings of India lying abroad:Shivaji's SwordKnown as the father of the Indian Navy, Chhatrapati Shivaji was the great warrior of 17th century, born in India. He revolutionized the traditional Maratha weapons and contributed in the victory of Maratha's. Shivaji gave Maratha's some of the finest swords like no other in the rest of the world.One of the finest swords of Shivaji Maharaj is now in London, in Royal Collection Trust of Royal family of Britain. This sword was presented by Shivaji IV of Kolhapur to Prince of Wales in 1875 AD.Some of the famous contemporary paintings of Shivaji is in London, depicting the great Maratha warrior with the sword.Koh-i-NoorKoh-i-Noor which means "Mountain of Light" is amongst the most beautiful diamonds in the world. Presently, part of the British crown Jewels once belonged to India. Back in 1850, the mesmerizing diamond was confiscated from the Sikh Empire by the British East India Company and became part of the British Crown Jewels when Queen Victoria was proclaimed Empress of India in 1877. The diamond was traditionally known as "Kuh-e nur" in the 19th century after the British conquest of India.The diamond is currently set into the Crown of Queen Elizabeth and is on display at the Tower of London. As it is said, every coin has two sides, so does Koh-i-noor has. It's said that Koh-i-noor is cursed, “He who owns this diamond will own the world, but will also know all its misfortunes. Only God, or a woman, can wear it with impunity.” Rest history is the witness.The Koh-i-noor armletThe Koh-i-Noor is set as an armlet with additional decorations of 11 pearls, three smaller diamonds and 11 garnets with a weight 12.7 tolas. It was presented to Queen Victoria in 1830.Daria-i-Noor The pale pink Daria-i-Noor (Ocean of Light) is one of the rarest among diamonds. Like the Koh-i-Noor, it was quarried from the Golconda mines and acquired by a succession of rulers till Maharaja Ranjit Singh got it. The Daria-i-Noor was also taken to London, but did not interest the British royals. It was bought by one of the Nawabs of Dhaka and is currently said to be in the vault of a Bangladeshi bank.Peacock throne Presently in Iran, The Peacock Throne or Mayurasana was a famous jewels and the pride of the seats of Mughal emperors of India. The throne was built by Shah Jahan located at Red fort, New Delhi, in 17th Century. The throne, studded with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, gold and silver was taken over as a war trophy by Iranian ruler Nader Shah. Since then it has never been home, India.It received its name by historians as the Peacock statues were made on it.Sword and ring of Tipu sultanThis ring and sword are trophies of the Battle of Seringapatam. The sword bears an inscription indicating that it comes from Tipu Sultan's armory, whereas the ring came with a label that states that it was taken from the finger of Tipu Sultan at the battle by Arthur Henry Cole, Earl of Enniskillen.Maharaj Ranjit Singh's ThroneMade in Lahore, the goldsmith Hafez Muhammad Multani made this throne for Maharaja Ranjit Singh, probably in 1820-1830. It shows clearly the splendour of Ranjit Singh's court. Presently, the throne is in Victoria and Albert Museum. The emerald belt of Maharaja Sher Singh Presented to Queen Victoria by the East India Company, in 1840.The Crown of the Emperor Bahadur Shah II It is a very rich skull-cap worn on the head of the emperor, around the lower part of which the turban was wound and in the turban jewels were placed. The materials used are gold, turquoises, rubies, diamonds, pearls, emeralds, feathers and velvet. It was purchased by Queen VictoriaWine cup of Shah Jahan The milky white jade has been shaped to a wild goat with the fine carvings. To complete the cup there is a low pedestal of fleshy lotus petals.
