J&K: Militants attack police station in Kathua, heavy firing underway, 3 policemen reportedly killed

Jammu: Three policemen have reportedly died on Friday when a group of militants attacked a police station in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. Militants used automatic weapons and hurled grenades at the Rajbagh police station

Jammu: Three policemen have reportedly died on Friday when a group of militants attacked a police station in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

 Militants used automatic weapons and hurled grenades at the Rajbagh police station in Kathua district today morning.

 The attackers are reportedly inside the police station and a heavy exchange of firing has been on.

 Reports suggest there are at least three attackers in military uniforms. The attackers opened fire at the Rajbagh police station a little after 6 am.

Security forces and police teams have rushed to spot.Reinforcements have been rushed to the spot., 65 kms from here on the Jammu-Pathankot national highway.


Traffic on the strategic highway has been stopped.

Twelve people were killed on September 26, 2013 when guerrillas had attacked Hiranagar police station in Kathua district and later entered an army camp on the Jammu-Pathankote national highway.
