New Delhi, Nov 2: Continuing his tirade against  Swami Ramdev and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for carrying out anti-corruption movements, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh said that the two were not saints, but businessmen.

Talking to newspersons here, Singh said, “wearing saffron robes does not make one a saint. They may wear saffron robes, but in reality, they are businessmen”.

Swami Ramdev runs his Patanjali Yog university and Divya Yog Pharmacy, while Sri Sri Ravi Shankar runs his Art of Living Foundation.

Singh said, Swami Ramdev must say to which ‘parampara' (tradition) of sadhus he belongs to.  “We have Sadhu Akhada Parishad and the Shankaracharyas. Let Ramdev baba say, to which parampara (tradition) he belongs to. Ramdev is not a saint, he is a businessman.”

The Congress leader said, notices have been issued to Swami Ramdev's outfits on charges relating to tax evasion and money laundering and he should first reply to those charges.

“Ramdev baba has his ashram in Uttarakhand, but why is he not raising his voice against corruption in Uttarakhand?

“Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has his ashram in Karnataka, but why is he not raising his voice against corruption in that state?”, asked Singh.

“Charity begins at home. Let them first begin their movement from their home states”, advised Singh.
