    MP: A day after four persons died in an abandoned coal mine, three more bodies recovered

     A day after four persons died on entering an abandoned underground coal mine in Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh, three more bodies were recovered from the facility on Saturday, a police official said.
    The four men had entered the mine in Dhanpuri, some 28 kilometres from the district headquarters, allegedly with the intention to collect coal or scrap and died after inhaling toxic gas, police had said on Friday.

    Police say 3 dead, 4 hurt in latest California shooting

    At least three people were killed and four others were wounded in a shooting in California area early Saturday morning. Sgt. Frank Preciado of the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the shooting happened just after 2:30 a.m. in Beverly Crest, an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood. Of the seven people who were shot, four were standing outside. The three who were killed were in a vehicle.

    A 45-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh from her employer's house in suburban Khar here, police said on Saturday. The police on Friday arrested the accused who was employed as a domestic help in a flat in a housing society, an official from Khar police station said.

    7 arrested in Bengaluru for smuggling endangered animals

    The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested seven passengers, including a woman, for allegedly smuggling 18 endangered animals in their baggage at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru a few days ago. Initially, three people were arrested.
    Their interrogation resulted in the arrest of four more people, the DRI said in a statement on Friday.

    5 killed in shooting near Jerusalem synagogue

    At least five people were killed and as many sustained injuries in a shooting at a synagogue in Jerusalem’s Neve Yaakov, police and rescue services have said. The shooting took place on Friday evening in the northern part of East Jerusalem, they said.     2 dead, 2 missing as rain pounds New Zealand's biggest city

    Police on Saturday said two people had died and two more were missing as torrential rain caused widespread disruption to New Zealand's largest city.
