A low-intensity blast occurred outside the Punjab BJP office in Chandigarh. The incident took place in the parking area near the office located in Sector 37. Preliminary reports suggest the explosion was minor. Chandigarh Police are investigating the incident.
A video believed to be linked to the incident is circulating on social media, showing a person with a helmet in his hand and the other person recording the video, throwing an explosive object resembling a grenade made of plastic.
Officials say the spot from where the grenade-like object was allegedly thrown falls in a blind spot, making it difficult to capture the exact moment on camera. However, police have managed to obtain CCTV footage from a petrol pump located just ahead of the BJP office. The footage reportedly shows a person running away from the area, and investigators believe this individual could be the same person seen fleeing after throwing the explosive object.
