New Delhi: In a major show of humanity, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MP Vitthal Radadiya arranged second marriage of his widow daughter-in-law on the second day of the Navratri festival and gave her property worth Rs 100 crore as a wedding gift.
Manisha, wife of Radadiya's son Kalpesh, was married to Hardik Chovtiya, whose family lives in Surat. The Chovtiya family is friend of Radadiyas and is originally from Jasapar.
Kalpesh died nine months ago in Rajkaot and was survived by wife and two children Rahil (3) and Jiya (5).
The wedding of Manisha with Chowatiya, which took place on Friday, was performed at Jamkandorna town of Rajkot.
Radadiya, also BJP strongman of Saurashtra and sitting MP from Porbandar, said that he was worried about Manisha and grandchildren and hence, decided not to leave his daughter-in-law to lead a widow life.
He, however, added that Rahil and Jiya will be staying with him for a while.
Radadiya and his wife Chetnaben performed all rituals including ‘kanyadaan'.
