A 22-year-old man was murdered allegedly over a land dispute and his body was chopped into pieces near here in Bihar's West Champaran district, police said on Sunday. The severed head of Mohammad Abdul Khalid Hussain was found from a place in the Lalu Nagar area under the Mufassil police station area while the torso, which was also cut into several parts, was discovered beside a nearby maize factory.
The body parts were kept in sacks, police said.
Akhtar Hussain, the father of the deceased, told reporters that his son left the house along with a person at around 7 pm on Saturday and did not return.
Someone informed him in the morning that a body chopped into pieces has been found near the maize factory and he identified the body by his clothes, he said.
Hussain alleged that the husband of a local politician killed his son over a land dispute.
Efforts to contact the politician and her husband were unsuccessful.
The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem examination.
