New Delhi: A serving army personnel from Darjeeling and a government school teacher from J&K have been detained by the crime branch in connection with the espionage racket backed by Pak spy agency ISI.
According to a Times of India report, the army man --Fareed Khan will face a court of enquiry by the army and then will be handed over to the Delhi Police. The teacher identified as Safar Khan tried to escape when the police raided his hideout. He jumped from the terrace and broke his leg. He was overpowered by the team.
Three earlier arrests have already been made in the case. A retired Havildar from Indian army Munawar Ahmad Mir was arrested on Friday. Before that, BSF cop Abdul Rasheed and his handler Kafaitullah Khan were arrested.
The report also said that it was Fareed who had provided information regarding ORBAT and a CD containing information of deployment. Safar Khan sent the information of CD to PIO named Faisal using his computer. Faisal, who uses a Delhi number, is at large. He was the handler of Kafaitullah and all other accused in the case.
Kafaitullah Khan was a Pakistan Intelligence Operative (PIO) running a spy racket allegedly backed by the ISI, said police. He roped in his relative Rasheed and others into the racket and allegedly used to procure secret and confidential documents from them, said police.
While Rasheed was intercepted by a police in New Delhi Railway Station on November 26 while he was on his way to Bhopal to attend a religious congregation and allegedly scout for recruits, Rasheed was arrested following a raid at Rajouri district on Sunday.
